Privacy Policy
This policy explains what PublicView collects, why we use it, and how billing data is handled when you use our public research pages or subscribed workspace.
Last updated July 31, 2026
Information we collect
We collect account details you provide, including email address and display name; authentication and security records such as verification status, coarse network prefix, session timestamps, and hashed user-agent information; product usage such as analyses, AI requests, charged-token totals, watchlists, and feature interactions; support communications; and session replays of authenticated dashboard use, including pages visited, clicks, scrolling, masked form inputs, and content displayed on screen. Rendered content remains visible in a replay and may include account email, billing information, chat messages, and research output.
Payments and subscriptions
Autumn manages our billing and entitlement lifecycle and connects to Stripe for checkout, payment processing, invoices, and the customer portal. PublicView stores subscription identifiers, plan and entitlement status, trial and renewal dates, cancellation state, and synchronization timestamps. PublicView does not store complete card numbers, bank details, or card security codes.
How we use information
- Provide, secure, and personalize PublicView.
- Confirm subscription access and enforce daily usage allowances.
- Deliver requested alerts, analyses, and account communications.
- Detect abuse, diagnose failures, reconcile billing state, and improve reliability.
- Meet legal, tax, accounting, and dispute-handling obligations.
Service providers and disclosure
We share the minimum information needed with infrastructure, authentication, email, analytics, AI, market-data, Autumn, and Stripe providers acting on our behalf. PostHog processes authenticated-dashboard session replays for product diagnostics using PublicView's internal account identifier rather than your email or display name as the replay identity. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users and PublicView, in a business transfer, or with your direction. We do not sell payment credentials.
Retention and security
We retain account and billing records for as long as the account is active and as needed for security, legal, tax, dispute, and audit purposes. Session replays are retained for 30 days, the shortest retention period currently available from PostHog, and webhook replay receipts expire automatically. We use access controls, encryption in transit, signed webhooks, masked replay inputs, and server-only billing credentials, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You may update your profile and billing method through your account, cancel through the Stripe customer portal, and contact us to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable. Some records may be retained where required for legal, fraud-prevention, financial, or security purposes.
Children and international use
PublicView is not directed to children under 18. Information may be processed where PublicView and its providers operate, subject to applicable safeguards and law.
Changes
We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. Material changes will be communicated through the service or by email when appropriate.
